The Armonica in Portugal
Richard Twiss in his Travels through Portugal and Spain in 1772 and 1775 observes:
I also heard [at Lisbon] a Portuguese lady's performance on the musical glasses, which were empty, but her fingers wer occasionally dipped in water.1
